When joining Mapi Values’ global team, your role will involve research relating to both Patient Reported Outcomes and Market Access. You will be involved in research to evaluate and communicate the benefit of medical interventions. You will provide critical data to support our clients in getting their products approved, differentiated and properly prescribed and reimbursed. You will also provide critical evidence to develop the global and local Market Access strategy of our clients and support their local submissions to Health Technology Assessment or reimbursement agencies to ensure their products are reimbursed, accepted in formularies, and properly prescribed.

THE POSITION: We wish to appoint a researcher to join our Asian office based in the exciting city of Tokyo. This is a great opportunity if you have a genuine interest in enhancing your knowledge and skills in healthcare research in a challenging and rapid-moving field. You will be provided with training and support for your professional development, and in return will be expected to rapidly build on your existing knowledge and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Your role will be exciting and varied in international healthcare research projects. You will conduct, analyze and report on pharmacoeconomic, epidemiologic, health-related quality of life, patient satisfaction, and other PRO studies. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Literature research and data abstraction for economic and epidemiologic evaluations
  • Interviewing of research subjects / clinicians
  • Qualitative data analysis
  • Preparation of project documents and development of patient-based questionnaires
  • Liaising with physicians and patient recruitment agencies
  • Assisting in preparing presentations for client meeting and scientific conferences

REQUIREMENTS: A demonstrated knowledge of literature research methodology, experience with qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, and strong writing skills. You have the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver work of excellent quality to tight timelines. You know how to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and are able to coordinate project tasks efficiently and effectively. You enjoy being part of a team, and will take pride in the achievements of the project team. You have an undergraduate degree in public health, public policy, psychology, or economics and are fluent in both Japanese and English. 1-2 years of work experience is a plus.
